Calculation and coverage of activities
LQ = (subjects with activity in the territory / subjects with at least one registered activity in the territory) ÷ the same share for Slovakia. LQ 2 means twice the share, not twice the number of firms or growth.
We take into account the territory, legal form and status from the map. You select the activity separately in this tab; neither the time filter nor the combinations of business objects in the map change this overview. This is the current status according to the last known address.
The categories overlap: one ID number can belong to several, but it is counted only once in one category. Coverage of activities is incomplete and may not be representative. It is not a NACE main industry or a share of employment. The Slovak basis also includes subjects without a classified territory. We do not display LQ for less than 30 entities with activities or for 1–4 entities in the selected category.
The principle of relative shares: BEA - Location Quotients.

How to read map data
Each subject with an ID number is counted once. The number of subjects means the current number of records in the database; the selected period affects creations, disappearances and additions. The "active" status is based on the subject's current status and the registered date of termination. It does not reflect the activity of each individual trade or the historical status at the end of the period.
Originations and terminations are based on the dates in the register, not the date of import. The comparison of originations uses the immediately preceding period of the same length. The net increase is the difference of these events, not the change in the number of seats after the move.
We determine the territory according to the last known seat and code of municipalities. We do not assign missing or ambiguous settlements to estimates. Bratislava and Košice without a city district can be included in a region, but not in a specific district. The sum of the districts can therefore be lower than the sum of the region.
Business objects use the same catalog and company index as the Company Database. When selecting an activity, only entities with the relevant registered activity are displayed; coverage of activities is not complete. Multiple activities in the same category do not increase the number of one entity.
The registers use the Slovak eight-digit ID number and the last published image, not the historical status at the end of the selected period. The registry value on the map selects companies with the corresponding record; additional filters narrow this selection. The monthly chart shows the dates of creation and demise of these companies, not the development of debts or euro funds. For the amount, we display the sum of the known values and the number of companies with the available amount. A company with multiple records is counted once.
The color of the surface in the balance expresses creations minus disappearances: negative values are red, positive values are green and zero is neutral. The saturation is based on the absolute value on the same scale for both directions. The colors have the same meaning in the territorial balance chart; the monthly graph shows emergences in green and extinctions in red. Other metrics on the map use a linear scale of absolute counts or sums. Each column represents a municipality or district; the height has a logarithmic scale so that even smaller numbers are visible. Location is the middle of site addresses, not the address of a specific business. We do not divide entities without a determinable location into columns. It is not a number per capita.
For districts, we show the coat of arms of the district town, not a separate district coat of arms. Coats of arms are used for orientation in the territory; sources and authors of coats of arms.
